Building what
communities deserve.

Consulting, property development, workforce opportunity, and community organizing — rooted in Englewood and built to last.

"They want for their neighbors what they would have wanted for themselves. That is the whole mission."

What We Do

Four areas. One commitment.

Every service Itiel Management and Consultants provides is rooted in the same belief: communities do not need to wait for outside help. They need the right structure, the right partnerships, and people who are accountable to them.

Consulting and Advisory

Community-rooted strategy for organizations, nonprofits, and leaders who want to do right by their neighborhoods. We help translate mission into structure and structure into action.

Property Development

Acquiring, restoring, and returning distressed and vacant properties to productive, community-owned use. Every project leaves something lasting on the block and in the neighborhood.

Violence Prevention to Productive Purpose

Citizens who complete violence prevention programs earn certifications in skilled trades — electrical, bricklaying, demolition — and join Itiel Management's workforce to rebuild the very communities they call home.

Community Organizing

Advocacy and organizing that keeps decision-making power with the people most affected. We help communities build the relationships and capacity to shape their own future.

Featured Initiative

Buy Back the Block:
Englewood

Founded by Reginald Henderson + Sean Tyler

In 1994, Reginald Henderson and Sean Tyler were teenagers when they were tortured into false confessions and wrongfully convicted of a murder they did not commit. They spent nearly three decades inside. They never stopped fighting. In 2021 their convictions were vacated. In 2024 they received Certificates of Innocence.

Now they are back in Englewood. Not to relive what was taken from them, but to build what the community always deserved. This initiative, developed and managed by Itiel Management and Consultants, acquires vacant and distressed property, restores it with certified tradespeople from our Violence Prevention to Productive Purpose program, and returns it to local families as affordable homes.

About Itiel

Not a plan written from a distance.

Itiel Management and Consultants was built on a simple belief: the people closest to a problem are the ones best positioned to solve it. We do not parachute into communities with ready-made answers. We build from within, in partnership with the people who have the most at stake.

Based in Englewood, Chicago, we work across consulting, property development, workforce programming, and community organizing. Every engagement is rooted in accountability to the community, not just to funders or clients.

We are building the infrastructure that communities deserve and have always had the capacity to lead.

What we stand on

  • Community accountabilityWe answer to the people we work with first. Not funders, not politics, not optics.
  • Lived experience as expertiseThe people who have been through the system understand it better than anyone who has studied it from outside.
  • Permanence over visibilityWe are not here to make announcements. We are here to leave something behind that lasts.
  • Second chances by designEvery program we build creates a pathway for people who have been counted out. That is not a side feature. It is the point.
  • Honest about what it takesReal community development is slow, complex, and requires trust built over time. We do not pretend otherwise.

Investors + Funders

Put capital behind community ownership

We are seeking catalytic grants, impact investment, and patient capital aligned with justice, reentry, and community development. The model works. We need partners ready to prove it at scale.

City + Political Leaders

Align policy and partnership with people

We need priority access to city lots, navigation through subsidy programs, and introductions to housing agencies and institutional partners. Political alignment at the start is what turns a strong plan into a working program.
